Sonofabitch has a knack for hitting extremely close to home. I'm not cutting onions, you are.

I started following you thinking I'd get some insights on investment trends. Instead, I've been getting some wonderful insights on life and how to live it. No matter how busy I think I am, I always make time to read your essays. I have really enjoyed the experience and today's essay was no different. A lot to think about. Many thanks as always.

Great essay. Love the drum major part. On my second - fourth grade soccer teams I had a run of scoring game winning goals in the second half. After many of them, I was carried off the field by my teammates. This was only 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade rec league soccer - and the feeling was amazing! I hope every person gets to experience this type of moment!

You would have appreciated 3Com in the earlier days. Owned several exploding markets. But, greed and incompetence turned it into just another failed tech. Palm buy was a temporary reprieve from their ultimate fail.

Potentially their technology could have created Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, and a few semi companies rolled into one. But, in the end sold for scrap to the Chinese.

Wonderful Jared. Thank you. I’m with you for the political economy side of things, but I have a Music recommendation. Ringo Starr has a new song (along with two other exceptional, exceptional musicians). “Free your soul”. It absolutely levitated me out of my chair and on my feet. Such exhilarated dancing! “Take a chance. And dance.” Wow!
