Tattoos are for morons; that's why they're popular these days.

I posit that it will matter much at 65/70. I am tattoo-less and will be, yikes, 70 this year, I am quite certain feelings on appearance won’t/don’t subside with age, paradoxically they may intensify with each pass of the mirror. I’m still thinking young and still thinking of getting a tattoo that would look good at 90, when it still might matter. though ngmi. Your follower, tom

Jared, if you read the comments, you may remember me as the guy on Twitter who responded that I thought you were more of an independent thinker when you asked your Twitter followers whether you should get a tattoo. I believe you blocked me for a millisecond before changing your mind.

I live in Israel. When arriving here just over 20 years ago, one of my criteria for culling a potential partner from the plethora of beautiful females in this country was that they were tattoo free and non-smokers, as even back then I believed most people who had them were followers rather than leaders.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that some tattoos are truly works of art, but personally, I prefer my art hanging on a wall or placed, not engraved, on a shelf or wrist.

May I ask, if you really DGAF, why did you ask for opinions on Twitter before getting inked? And who do you consider "people on the high end"? And come to think of it, how do you define "people on the high end"? I hope wealth isn't your only determinant.

Having followed your writing for a number of years, I reckon that we'd get along like a house on fire if we ever met up. However, when it comes to tatts, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

A guy, Andy, who built my deck, is covered in prison tattoos. Up his neck, arms, hands, just his face unscathed. Those freak people out and he is a super nice guy, turned over a new leaf, and very honest. I trust him more than most men in suits.

I don't like tattoos, but as long as no one makes me do it, I don't really care either. They are not as bad as all the plastic surgery people seem to enjoy now. Tattoos are not pretending the way plastic surgery does
