There is such a thing as a personal finance industry in the United States. You have Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman, and below them, thousands of personal finance bloggers and YouTubers—and they all say the same thing—and they’re all a bunch of ding-dongs. And we’re all tired of them preaching dumb shit.
How about some new ideas, ideas that are grounded in math and truths about human psychology? How about some ideas that address the root problem of money management—our unhealthy relationship with money and the degree to which it causes us stress and unhappiness?
This is a sales pitch. I am saying that you should buy this book, much in the same way that I would tell you to eat your vegetables. It will be good for you—except you will enjoy it. You will find yourself nodding in agreement at several points throughout the manuscript, with plenty of laughs along the way. This was the easiest book I’ve ever written—I actually wrote two-thirds of the book over Christmas break in 2021. I’m sharing the lessons I’ve learned personally, but also the lessons of others—the hundreds of people who called into my radio show from 2019-2021.
You’ll read it, and you’ll want to buy it for your kids, your nieces, and your nephews. A few dozen people have read the book so far, and the one thing I’ve heard consistently is: “I wish I had read this in my early twenties.” There is no better testimonial than that.
The book will be released Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. You can pre-order it here, and you’ll get it in two-and-a-half weeks:

And now, back to our regularly scheduled screwing around.
This article was wasted on me, but only because I already pre-ordered it...
I wish I hadn't sold my house last year...not because it went up in value, but it was cheap...dirt cheap. My mortgage was $900 (actually $1,900 but $1K goes towards principle), Taxes insurance another $1,000... on the water... in Jupiter Fl. 3800 sq ft...my backyard went up to Justin Verlander and Kate Upton's house. It was one of your 5 pillars you mentioned and I wish I kept it. I'm looking forward to your book and down the road subscribing to the DailyDirtNap again...because I am one of the loser's currently short $AAPL ... At least I'm not short $MSFT. Al Cheech
