We were 19 and 18 when we got married. 53 years and she died pretty suddenly of cancer a little over a year ago. It was amazing the partnership we had. Lots of ups and downs both personally and financially but never a minute we weren’t sure we were in it together for better or worse.
Trust and never lying about anything to each other. Our simple formula.
Love this. Brings tears of emotion to my eyes. I vibe with this; absolutely love my wife and after the initial first few years shakeout we’ve evolved and only gotten stronger and deeper connection as we’ve learned to accept each other. We have an amazing boy and we know it. Spent NYE at phish and groovy danced together to the point where fans commented how good we are for each other. Not trying to brag, just violently agreeing with this essay. Thanks for this
Jared, last fan letter I sent was to Robert Vaughn 55 years ago (Man from UNCLE) but these are really deep waters here. Some phenomenal work here - keep up the great work.
Well done, I didn't get there with my first marriage but I admire people who do very much. I know that it is not always easy, but keep up the good work!
Great piece. I wouldn't trade places with anyone else either. Married 12+ years with two kids and life's awesome. As you said, it's what it's all about. Money's always nice, but it's a means not an end.
Lovely piece, Jared. We're coming up on 30 years, and this resonated in so many ways (although both of us are kind of reckless risk-takers). The stories never get old, even as we get older. Thanks for starting my day with a tear of joy in my eye.

Your best work yet. Bravo

This was not only your best essay yet but it was flat-out beautiful, and I don't use that word as a compliment very often.
Excellent essay, sir. We don't agree on all things, but on this I couldn't agree more.
That is a great piece! The best things in life are far more valuable than money!
What a stunning love letter to your wife. You two are so blessed to have each other.
Great story, you truly are rich. Don't trade it for anything.
Wow! Beautiful!
Great !
Jared -- I enjoyed reading this. Thanks!
Jared, Thank you. Just thanks. You made my day.
