I would disagree slightly in your first paragraph sentence, “ I didn’t change—everyone else did.”

I would say people did not change (maybe some did) but the microphones for these minority fringes have become so big that this is what we feel everyone falls under now. There is a silent majority just itching for the right person (fuck the party letter next to their name) that is young, energetic, and brings common sense to our issues. The key is for this person or group of people to steal the microphone from the left and right fringes, which will be very difficult because they are now so imbedded in our system. Just my 2 cents 🙏🤷‍♂️

Being rational in an irrational world is a curse.

The opposite is by far worse.

Great article, man.

I also just tried it. I have a very low openness score (not a surprise). Funny thing is, I am more open in the realm of music than 9 of 10 people I encounter. We're never 100% true to type in all areas of life (thankfully)!

Raising the minimum wage is not “ludicrous” economics.

The minimum wage has been around since the 40s and was introduced by FDR. Introduced by a president that saved the US after the ravages of the Great Depression. Back then, labor was exploited, and even violence was perpetrated against workers that rebelled. People freakin died fighting the labor rights we enjoy now. But right now the minimum wage hasn’t risen for the longest stretch than it ever has in hsistory. It’s also worth less at this time than any other time when taking inflation into account. Look, it wasn’t capitalism or the free market alone that led to our current prosperity, but also the labor movement. Because even though some of it was undone (unions), it set standards for how workers should be treated and compensated. You wouldn’t be fiscally conservative if you were average and a worker in the 1940s. You take too much for granted.

You obviously must've missed Robert Lange Studio. It's the only one worth going to in Charleston. His hyperrealism is super cool. Also phish and GD, where 2 shows are never alike, where improv and surrender to the flow reigns supreme, are also somehow not open? But I get the point...I s'pose it's openness to new styles.
